APAR Error Description / Circumvention
-------------------------------------------------
Add a new tag to be used in workstation customization objects
with attribute CTXFORM which which will allow a transform to
substitute standard font references for AFP FOCA fonts rather
than embedding them.
CORRECTION FOR APAR 'SE50110' :
-------------------------------
The new tag AFPFNTSUB will be added. See the PTF coverletter
Special instructions section for details.
CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR 'SE50110' :
----------------------------------
None.
Activation Instructions
None.
Special Instructions
A new tag has been added for Workstation Customization objects with
attribute CTXFORM. The new tag is described below.
AFP Font Substitution (AFPFNTSUB) Tag
The AFPFNTSUB tag can be used to indicate whether AFP Font Object
Content Architecture (FOCA) fonts are to be embedded in the output
document produced. You can use this tag to help control the size of
an output document when AFP Fonts are used.
The syntax is:
:AFPFNTSUB
EMBED = YES|NO.
EMBED
This parameter is required. This parameter indicates whether AFP
Fonts are to be embedded in the document. For documents that use AFP
Fonts, allowing the AFP Fonts to be embedded will produce a document
that has better font fidelity. However, the document size may be larger
than wanted. If this parameter specifies that AFP Fonts are not to be
embedded, AFP Font references in the document are mapped to standard
font references. This should produce a smaller document size but the
resulting document may not look the same as output produced on an AFP
printer. The valid values are as follows:
- NO
- YES (default)
Example
The following tag causes any system-generated output documents with
AFP Font references to have those references mapped to standard font
references.
:AFPFNTSUB
EMBED = NO.
Default Instructions
THIS PTF CAN BE APPLIED IMMEDIATE OR DELAYED.
