Application of this PTF may disable or render ineffective programs that
use system memory addresses not generated by the IBM translator,
including programs that circumvent control technology designed to limit
interactive capacity to purchased levels. This PTF may be a prerequisite
for future PTFs. By applying this PTF you authorize and agree to the
foregoing.
This PTF is subject to the terms of the license agreement which
accompanied, or was contained in, the Program for which you are obtaining
the PTF. You are not authorized to install or use the PTF except as part
of a Program for which you have a valid Proof of Entitlement.

APAR Error Description / Circumvention

IBM System Storage DS8000 systems that are not running firmware
release R4 or later may produce a hardware failure notification
if Collection Services is collecting the new external storage
metrics (*EXTSTG category data) that has been added in the 7.1
release. Hardware failure notification will cause the following
PAL entries to be repeatedly generated:

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE41285 :

This PTF removes the *EXTSTG category from the shipped
Collection Services collection profiles.
To put the *EXTSTG data category back into the shipped
Collection Services collection profiles, take the following
steps. (Note: following these steps will restore the default
Collection Services configuration. To customize the
configuration, execute the CFGPFRCOL command with the desired
configuration settings before restarting Collection Services.)
1. End Collection Services: ENDPFRCOL FRCCOLEND(*YES)
2. Rename the QYPSCOLDTA user space: RNMOBJ
OBJ(QUSRSYS/QPFRCOLDTA) OBJTYPE(*USRSPC) NEWOBJ(QPFRCOLDT2)
3. Recreate a new QYPSCOLDTA user space: CALL QSYS/QYPSCOLDTA
PARM('*EXTSTG')
4. Restart Collection Services: STRPFRCOL
