APAR Error Description / Circumvention

Authorization List extensions that were created (in an IASP)
before v7r4m0 may be marked damaged the first time the IASP is
varied online by a partition running v7r4m0, causing objects in
the IASP to lose their authorization list.

Damage is most likely if the the IASP did not complete normal
vary-off processing in its last use before vary-on by a
partition running v7r4m0.  Damage is unlikely after the first
successful IASP vary-on by a partition running v7r4m0.

Authorization List extensions created before v7r4m0
(incorrectly) charged storage to a user profile.  LIC coherence
checks added to v7r4m0 throw an exception that damages an old
Authorization List extension if the object is extended too early
in IASP vary-on processing.

CORRECTION FOR APAR 'MA48448' :

LIC processing for IASP vary-on is changed to update
Authorization List extensions (to not charge a user profile for
storage) before the objects can be extended

Special Instructions

This fix takes effect during IASP vary on processing. For any IASPs
that are currently varied on and have been upgraded from a previous
release, it is recommended to perform a vary off and vary on again to
ensure that the fix fully takes effect.
