the gates that caused the problem.

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR MA47148 :

A Licensed Internal Code log entry with major code 4201 and
minor code 002B may repeatedly get logged when a a varied on
tape device disappears.

The code has been modified to stop collecting the device
statistics when a tape device disappears.

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR MA47150 :
-----------------------------------------------
A vary on of a tape library works and the tape resource is
UNPROTECTED but any attempt to use the tape resources results in
a MSGCPF5401.

A tape resource may incorrectly change from a tape device to a
tape library device.

CORRECTION FOR APAR MA47150 :
-----------------------------
An error occurred leaving the tape resource in a failed state.
The error will now result in the resource being marked as failed
indicating to the user that something is wrong. In this case the
IOP needed to be IPLed to recover the tape resource.

Detection code has been added to detect when a device is about
to enroll a VPD change that will cause the device to change from
a tape device to a tape library device. A Licensed Internal Code
Log entry will be created with major code 2E00 and minor code
0524 when this is detected and the VPD change will not be
allowed.
