APAR Error Description / Circumvention

User may see unpredictable results when using DS8000 HyperSwap
disk units and the connection between two DS8000 boxes goes
down.

CORRECTION FOR APAR MA45250 :
-----------------------------
A PTF will be created to correct this problem. The PTF should be
applied on IBM i systems using DS8000 HyperSwap disk units.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR MA45250 :

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR MA45289 :
-----------------------------------------------
IBM i partition may crash when the partition has DS8000 disk
units and a Metro-Mirror relationship is started between two
DS8000 volumes mapped to the partition. In other words, this
problem may occur when configuring DS8000 HyperSwap on a
partition that is running. This problem cannot happen on IBM i
partitions that do not have DS8000 disk units attached.

CORRECTION FOR APAR MA45289 :
-----------------------------
A PTF will be created to correct this problem. Apply the PTF to
IBM i partitions before configuring DS8000 HyperSwap. The PTF is
not needed on IBM i partitions that do not have DS8000 disk
units attached.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR MA45289 :
--------------------------------
This problem can be circumvented by starting DS8000 Metro Mirror
relationship before mapping the secondary volume to the IBM i
partiton.
