APAR Error Description / Circumvention
-----------------------------------------------
Excessive gate contention was seen on an IP filtering cache gate
when a remote support VPN connection was established. The
customer had no other filter rules.
CORRECTION FOR APAR MA44597 :
-----------------------------
The IP filtering threshold for using the cache was mistakenly
set too low causing unnecessary gate contention. This threshold
has been increased which will remove this gate contention when
the only rules are due to a remote support VPN connection.
If the system has numerous other filter or VPN connection rules,
the filter cache gate will still be used, so no performance
change should be expected.
