Application of this PTF may disable or render ineffective programs that
use system memory addresses not generated by the IBM translator,
including programs that circumvent control technology designed to limit
interactive capacity to purchased levels. This PTF may be a prerequisite
for future PTFs. By applying this PTF you authorize and agree to the

Code', the terms of which were provided in a printed document that was
delivered with the machine.

APAR Error Description / Circumvention

When a *PWORM or *ERASE media from an earlier IBM i release are
moved to IBM i 7.2, none of the data can be accessed. Lic Logs
may be created, including 3A00 1000, and 3A00 1005, and
operations to the library report errors, the most common being
MSGOPT1360 Media directory corrupted.

CORRECTION FOR APAR 'MA44380' :

There is a LIC error in the base IBM i 7.2 code that changed the
expected location of data on the media. Apply this fix to
correct the file system processing and the data on *HPOFS media
from earlier releases may be accessed. Warning: When this PTF
is applied, any media that was initialized on v7r2 with INZOPT
MEDFMT(*HPOFS), or with INZOPT MEDFMT(*MEDTYPE) when the media
type is *WORM or *ERASE will not be usable after this PTF is
applied. Files should be copied off of the *HPOFS media before
applying this PTF.

Special Instructions
If this PTF is applied immediate, any IMGCLG containing *HPOFS
formatted media should be unloaded before the PTF is applied.
After this PTF is applied, any media that was initialized on IBM i 7.2
with
INZOPT MEDFMT(*HPOFS), or with INZOPT MEDFMT(*MEDTYPE) when the media
type is *WORM or *ERASE will not be usable after this PTF is applied.
Files should be copied off of the *HPOFS media before applying this
PTF.
