APAR Error Description / Circumvention

ObjectConnect commands such as SAVRSTLIB may run slowly and use
a lot of CPU in several LD* tasks.
CORRECTION FOR APAR 'MA44221' :

An Advanced Analysis macro named LDCONFIG will be provided to
allow a user to display or change some Load/Dump performance
attributes:
- Maximum Load/Dump buffer size
- Task affinity for Load/Dump pipeline tasks
The performance of ObjectConnect commands may be improved by
turning on Load/Dump task affinity for path devices.

Special Instructions
An Advanced Analysis macro named LDCONFIG is provided to allow a user
to display or change some Load/Dump performance attributes. Adjusting
the attribute values may improve the performance of save and restore
operations.
To use the LDCONFIG macro, follow these steps:
1. Access System Service Tools by using SST or DST.
2. Select Start a service tool.
3. Select Display/Alter/Dump.
4. Select Display/Alter storage.
5. Select Licensed Internal Code (LIC) data.
6. Select Advanced analysis. (You must page down to see this option.)
7. Page down until you find the LDCONFIG command. Then, place a 1
(Select) next to the command and press Enter. You are now on the
Specify Advanced Analysis Options window. The command shows as
LDCONFIG.
8. Enter the appropriate option and any required parameters in the
Options field. For example:
o Enter -h to display the available options.
o Enter -d to display the current values.
o Enter -a path on to enable task affinity for ObjectConnect
operations.
