APAR Error Description / Circumvention
-----------------------------------------------
If a virtual Fibre Channel client adapter is dynamically removed
from an IBM i partition before the adapter ever reaches the
Operational state, an exception may occur which will cause the
DLPAR operation and all subsequent DLPAR operations to fail. The
Licensed Internal Code log will contain a VL4E000009 entry with
the interrupted address in routine
remove__18VioVfcClientDeviceFv.
CORRECTION FOR APAR MA43846 :
-----------------------------
The Licensed Internal Code will be fixed to avoid the exception
condition.
CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR MA43846 :
--------------------------------
None.
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR MA43863 :
-----------------------------------------------
Multipath disk unit paths may go failed and new paths get
created after a virtual Fibre Channel adapter is dynamically
removed, then added back in to the partition.
CORRECTION FOR APAR MA43863 :
-----------------------------
Allow disk units to keep the same unit addresses if possible, so
that the old disk resource will be reused instead of creating a
new disk resource.
CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR MA43863 :
--------------------------------
None.
