APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
Attaching an Access Logical Drive (also known as a "Universal
Xport" drive) on a Fibre Channel System Storage device, such as
an IBM DS3000/4000/5000 series storage system, to an IBM i
partition via a Virtual Fibre Channel adapter may cause the IBM
i partition to hang.

CORRECTION FOR APAR MA40409 :
-----------------------------
The IBM i Licensed Internal Code (LIC) for the virtual Fibre
Channel client adapter will change to not attempt to create a
disk unit driver for any attached disk that is not
recognized/supported by the IBM i operating system. The LIC will
log a 6B253020 entry in the Product Activity Log for each
unsupported unit found to indicate that it has detected an
invalid device configuration.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR MA40409 :
--------------------------------
The access logical unit is not supported by the IBM i partition.
Remove the unsupported logical unit from the IBM i partition
configuration by changing the host-logical unit mapping in the
storage system device using storage system management tools.
