The Advanced Settings Utility (ASU) becomes slow when the data transfer in the network is not stable, or there is network congestion. ASU needs to read a configuration file from the Integrated Management Module (IMM). When reading the file, ASU reads a block at a time, and stops reading if there is an error. As a result, when the network is unstable or there is congestion, ASU reads the configuration file multiple times.

Symptom
The Advanced Settings Utility (ASU) becomes slow when the data
transfer in the network is not stable, or there is network
congestion. ASU needs to read a configuration file from the
Integrated Management Module (IMM). When reading the file, ASU
reads a block at a time, and stops reading if there is an error. As
a result, when the network is unstable or there is congestion, ASU
reads the configuration file multiple times.

- Advanced Settings Utility, any
version

Solution
In the next ASU release, 15D, ASU will add a retry mechanism
when reading a block of the configuration file. This can prevent
the ASU from re-reading the configuration file from the first
block.
The fix is scheduled to be released in fourth quarter 2015.
