3502 Tape Library - (3502-R14 and 3502-314) Setting SCSI IDs

Troubleshooting


Problem

Setting SCSI IDs on the IBM 3502-R14 (and 3502-314) Tape Library With the library display showing "Library Idle", press the Select button until the message "SCSI ID" appears. Press the Next button. "View ID" will appear on the library display.

Resolving The Problem

Setting SCSI IDs on the IBM 3502-R14 (and 3502-314) Tape Library
  1. With the library display showing "Library Idle", press the Select button until the message "SCSI ID" appears.
  2. Press the Next button. "View ID" will appear on the library display.
  3. Press the Next button again to show "Set ID" on the display, then press the Enter button.
  4. Press the Next button to show "Library ?" on the display, then press the Enter button. The display will now show "Set ID? Library X?".
  5. Use the Next and Previous buttons to select Tape Library ID's. Select Library ID= 0, then press the Enter button.
  6. Press the Enter button to show "Set ID? Drive ID?" on the display. Press the Enter button again.
  7. Use the Next and Previous buttons to select the proper SCSI ID for the Tape Library.

  8. Press the Next button, then press the Enter button. You should now see "Set ID?" on the display.
  9. Press the Select button until "Library Idle" shows on the display. You are now done setting the SCSI ID.
