Problem
A false warning indicator is given when using an EXP200 with a single power supply for Servers.
Resolving The Problem

Symptom If an EXP200 has only one of the power supplies installed (2 are possible) and it is attached to a Netfinity Fibre controller, once the controller is turned on (after a slight delay), an amber warning indicator on the front of the EXP200 will illuminate.
Affected configurations The system is any of the following IBM xSeries:
IBM xSeries 340, type 8656, any model
IBM xSeries 240, type 8664, any model
IBM xSeries 230, type 8658, any model
The system is any of the following IBM Netfinity servers:
a Netfinity 8500R server, type 8681, any model
a Netfinity 7600 server, type 8665, any model
a Netfinity 7100 server, type 8666, any model
a Netfinity 7000-M10 server, type 8680, any model
a Netfinity 7000 server, type 8651, any model
a Netfinity 6000R server, type 8682, any model
a Netfinity 5600 server, type 8664, any model
a Netfinity 5500-M20 server, type 8662, any model
a Netfinity 5500-M10 server, type 8661, any model
a Netfinity 5500 server, type 8660, any model
a Netfinity 5100 server, type 8658, any model
a Netfinity 5000 server, type 8659, any model
a Netfinity 4500R server, type 8656, any model
The system is configured with the following IBM Netfinity options:
a Netfinity EXP200 Expansion unit, type 3530, any model
a Netfinity Fibre Channel RAID Controller, type 3526, any model
The Netfinity EXP200 Expansion unit is configured with the following option:
Netfinity EXP200 350 Watt Redundant Power Supply, Option part number 37L0075, FRU part number 37L0059
NOTE: The following script file must be executed: 3526EXPsinglePS.scr
The script file disables the detection and error reporting of a missing alternate power supply in an IBM Storage Expansion Unit configured with a single power supply and attached to the 3526.
After executing this script, the Storage Manager application will not report the missing alternate power supply in an IBM Storage Expansion Unit.
NOTE: The 3526 NVSRAM default is enabled to detect a missing alternate power supply in an IBM Storage Expansion Unit.
Additional information The use of one power supply does not affect the functionality of the system.
NOTES:
The LED warning can be ignored.
If a high reliability redundant configuration is desired, then two power supplies are recommended.
The next version of the controller's firmware will allow a NVSRAM setting to stop the false indication.
