To remove the SAS Hard Disk Drive Backplane and Cable Assembly:

1. Remove the top cover:
   
   
   1. Turn off the server and all peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
      
      
   2. Press the button and lift the cover-release latch. The cover will move to the rear approximately one half inch.
      
      
   3. Lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
      
      
2. Remove the SAS Hard Disk Drive Backplane and Cable Assembly:
   
   
   1. Pull the hard disk drives and fillers out of the server slightly to disengage them from the SAS backplane.
      
      
   2. Push the SAS backplane release latch toward the front of the server and then pull the assembly partially out of the chassis.
      
      
   3. Pull up on the Cable Assembly handle to disconnect the cables from the processor board and lift both assemblies from the server.
      
      
   4. Disconnect the Configuration SAS signal and power cables from the backplane.
      
      
   5. Flex the two blue levers and press down on the board to free it from the carrier.
