To remove the Front and Rear Adapter Retention Brackets:

  1. Remove the Side Cover:
    1. Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
    2. Unlock the side cover if required
    3. press the cover-release latch down while rotating the top edge of the cover away from the server and then lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
    4. Place the system on its right side. This is the recommended Service Position.
  2. Remove the Front and rear Adapter Retention Brackets
    1. Flex the side of the front bracket out at the hinge point to release it and then slide the bracket off the other hinge point and remove it from the server.
    2. Flex the bottom edge of the rear bracket in at the hinge point to release it and then lift the bracket from the server.
