Cache battery pack removal

To remove the cache battery pack, follow these steps:

  1. Place the system into the service position.
    1. Remove the two screws that secure the system unit to the rack.
    2. Release the rack latches on both the left and right sides.
    3. If required, unplug the cables from the back of the system before you pull the unit out from the rack. Ensure that the cables at the rear of the system do not catch or bind as you pull the unit out from the rack.
    4. Slowly pull the system or expansion unit out from the rack until the rails are fully extended and locked.
  2. Remove the service access cover.
    1. Loosen the two thumbscrews located at the back of the cover.
    2. Slide the cover toward the back of the system unit. When the front of the service access cover clears the upper frame ledge, lift the cover up and off the system unit.
  3. Remove the cache battery pack.
    1. Move the cache battery lever away from the connector to disengage the battery from the connector.
    2. Slide the cache battery pack out of the mounting guides and remove it from the controller.
