Memory modules removal

To remove the memory modules, follow these steps:

1. Place the system into the service position.
   1. Remove the two screws that secure the system unit to the rack.
   2. Release the rack latches on both the left and right sides.
   3. If required, unplug the cables from the back of the system before you pull the unit out from the rack. Ensure that the cables at the rear of the system do not catch or bind as you pull the unit out from the rack.
   4. Slowly pull the system or expansion unit out from the rack until the rails are fully extended and locked.
2. Remove the service access cover.
   1. Loosen the two thumbscrews located at the back of the cover.
   2. Slide the cover toward the back of the system unit. When the front of the service access cover clears the upper frame ledge, lift the cover up and off the system unit.
3. Locate the memory module that you want to remove by observing the service indicator light-emitting diodes (LEDs).
4. Remove the system processor assembly and protective cover.
5. Unlock the latches on the system processor assembly. Using both hands, grasp the unlocked latches to pull the system processor assembly through the guide rails away from the system backplane assembly.
6. Unlock the memory module cover by pushing the locking tab down. Lift the cover up to access the memory modules.
7. Unlock the memory module by pushing the locking tabs out and down. Lift the memory module out of the connector.
