DASD backplane removal
To remove the DASD backplane, follow these steps:
-
Remove the front cover.
- Pull out the latches located on both sides of the cover.
- Pull off the cover to remove it from the system unit.
- Remove the control panel and assembly from the backplane.
- Remove the RAID – dual IOA enablement card.
- Remove all the disk units and fillers.
- Remove the DVD drive.

Remove the disk drive backplane.
- Rotate the handles outward as far as they can go.
- Grasp the sides of the disk drive backplane and slide it out of the enclosure.
