To install the SAS riser-card and controller assembly:

  1. Connect the cable from the daughter card to the battery and place the battery and daughter card on the controller using the screw holes for alignment and secure with the three screws.
  2. Seat the riser card on the controller.
  3. Place the front end of the SAS controller in the retention bracket then lower the SAS controller onto its connector using the locating pins on the 240 volt amp safety cover for alignment. Press down on the SAS controller until the card is firmly seated and the retention latch clicks into place.
  4. Connect the two SAS data cables.

Install the top cover:

  1. Position the cover on top of the server using alignment pins on the cover and slots in the chassis for alignment.
  2. Slide the cover toward the front of the server until it latches in place.
