Abstract
Adapter retention brackets removal movie for the IBM System x3500.
Content
To remove the Adapter retention brackets:
Remove the Left-side Cover:
- Unlock the side cover and press the cover-release latch down while rotating the top edge of the cover away from the server; then, lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
- Place the system on its right side this is the recommended service position.
Remove the Adapter Retention Brackets:
- Release the bottom latching tab. Rotate the Front retention bracket up.
- Flex the side of the bracket to free the hinge pins from the holes in the chassis and place it aside.
- With the Rear adapter retention bracket slightly raised, use a flat-bladed screwdriver to flex the side of the bracket hinge pin from the hole in the chassis.
- Lift the bracket out of the chassis.
