Abstract
ServeRAID-8k adapter removal movie for the IBM System x3500.
Content
To remove the ServeRAID-8k adapter:
Remove the Left-side Cover:
- Unlock the side cover and press the cover-release latch down while rotating the top edge of the cover away from the server; then, lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
- Place the system on its right side this is the recommended service position.
Remove the ServeRAID-8k Adapter:
- Rotate the front and rear Adapter latches to the open position to gain access to the ServeRAID adapter.
- Disconnect the battery pack cable from the adapter.
- Press down on the latches on each end of the ServeRAID adapter connector and lift the adapter by the ends from the server.
- Place it on the ESD protected surface.
- If battery replacement is required, hold the battery in place while removing the screws that secure the battery pack to the chassis; then, lift out the battery pack.
