Abstract
Riser card removal movie for IBM System x3650 T (Type 7980)
Content
To remove a Riser Card:
- Turn off the server and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
Remove the Cover:
- Press in the cover release button and slide the cover the rear approximately one-half inch.
- Lift the cover off and place to the side.
Remove the Riser Card Assembly:
- Disconnect the PCI Card Carrier cable.
- Rotate the two release latches inward and lift the Riser Card Assembly out of the chassis and place it on an ESD protected surface.
Remove the PCI Riser Card:
- Press in on the release lever and slide the card toward the rear of the machine and lift it out of the assembly.
- Disconnect the cable and place the card on an ESD protected surface.

Use the same procedure to remove the other PCI Riser Card.
- Note that the other PCI Riser card does not have a cable attached.
