Abstract
Power backplane removal movie for the IBM System x3650.
Content
To remove the Power backplane:
Turn off the server and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
Remove the Cover:
- Press in the cover release latch and rotate up while sliding the cover the rear approximately one-half inch.
- Lift the cover off and place to the side.
Remove the Hot-Swap Fan Bracket Assembly:
- Lift up on the two fan bracket levers and lift the bracket out of the chassis and place aside.
Remove the Hot-Swap Power Supply:
- Press down on the power supply latch to release it. Grasp the handle and pull the supply from the bay.
Remove the Power Back Plane:
- Disconnect the Hard Disk Drive back plane power cable from the power back plane.
- Slide the Power back plane assembly to the right side of the server, as indicated by the label, to disconnect it from the system board
- Lift it out, and place it on an ESD protected surface.
