Abstract
2.5 inch drive backplane movie for the IBM System x3650.
Content
To remove the 2.5 inch drive backplane:
Turn off the server and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
Remove the Cover:
- Press in the cover release latch and rotate up while sliding the cover the rear approximately one-half inch.
- Lift the cover off and place to the side.
Remove the Hot-Swap Fan Bracket Assembly:
- Lift up on the two fan bracket levers and lift the bracket out of the chassis and place aside.
Remove any Hot-Swap Disk Drives:
- Press the release latch and rotate the drive tray handle to the open position, then pull the drive from the bay. Use the same procedure to remove all additional drives.
Remove the Tape Drive Bay Filler:
- Grasp the finger hole and pull the filler from the bay.
Remove the 2.5 Inch Drive Back Plane:
- Disconnect the SAS power cable from the system board and the SAS signal cable from the back plane.
- Press in on the two latching tabs to release the back plane and then slide the back plane out the front of the system and place it on an ESD protected surface.
