To remove the USB cable assembly

Remove the Top Cover:

  1. Turn off the server and all peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
  2. Slide the cover release latches and rotate the Fan Door open.
  3. Loosen the captive screw on the rear of the chassis.
  4. Slide the cover towards the rear of the server approximately one half inch and then lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
  5. Pull the drives out of the server.
  6. Raise the backplane out of the slots in the drive cage.
  7. Remove the three screws securing the cage assembly.
  8. Slide the drive cage assembly out two inches to clear the media bezel.

Remove the Media Bezel and Video Port Cable Assembly:

  1. Disconnect the cable for fan 3 , then grasp the pull tab on fan number 3 and lift it out of the bracket and place it aside to gain access to the cable.
  2. Disconnect the Video cable from the system board.
  3. Remove the two screws from the top of the Bezel.
  4. Rotate the top of the bezel away from the system and press down to free the hinge tabs on the bottom.
  5. Pull the Bezel away from the system while carefully feeding the cable through the media bay.

Remove the USB Cable Assembly:

  1. Disconnect the USB connector from the system board and route it out of the chassis.
  2. Squeeze to release the spring retainer and pull the cable from the cutout in the chassis.
