To remove the Power backplane
Remove the Top Cover:
- Turn off the server and all peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
- Slide the cover release latches and rotate the Fan Door open.
- Loosen the captive screw on the rear of the chassis.
- Slide the cover towards the rear of the server approximately one half inch and then lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
Remove the Hot-Swap Power Supplies:
- Disconnect the power cord from the power supply.
- Press down on the power supply latch to release it.
- Grasp the handle and pull the supply from the bay. If required, use a flat-bladed probe to pry the tab on the filler plate and pull it from the bay.
Remove the Power Back Plane:
- Disconnect the Power Cable.
- Slide the Power back plane assembly to the left side of the server to disconnect it from the system board.
- Lift it out, and place it on an ESD protected surface.
