To remove the Power backplane

Remove the Top Cover:

  1. Turn off the server and all peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
  2. Slide the cover release latches and rotate the Fan Door open.
  3. Loosen the captive screw on the rear of the chassis.
  4. Slide the cover towards the rear of the server approximately one half inch and then lift the cover off the server and set it aside.

Remove the Hot-Swap Power Supplies:

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the power supply.
  2. Press down on the power supply latch to release it.
  3. Grasp the handle and pull the supply from the bay. If required, use a flat-bladed probe to pry the tab on the filler plate and pull it from the bay.

Remove the Power Back Plane:

  1. Disconnect the Power Cable.
  2. Slide the Power back plane assembly to the left side of the server to disconnect it from the system board.
  3. Lift it out, and place it on an ESD protected surface.
