To remove the Disk drive cage assembly

Remove the Top Cover:

1. Turn off the server and all peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
2. Slide the cover release latches and rotate the Fan Door open.
3. Loosen the captive screw on the rear of the chassis.
4. Slide the cover towards the rear of the server approximately one half inch and then lift the cover off the server and set it aside.

Remove the 3.5 Inch Drive Back Plane:

1. Pull the drives out of the server
2. Disconnect the single power cable from the power distribution board and the two blue signal cables from the system board.
3. Lift the backplane out of the server using caution to avoid damaging the cables.

Remove the Disk drive Cage Assembly:

1. Remove the three screws securing the cage assembly.
2. Slide the drive cage assembly out the front of the server and place it aside.
