To remove the air baffle
Remove the Top Cover:
- Turn off the server and all peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
- Slide the cover release latches and rotate the Fan Door open.
- Loosen the captive screw on the rear of the chassis.
- Slide the cover towards the rear of the server approximately one half inch and then lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
Remove the Air Baffle:
- Disconnect the fan 5 cable from the system board.
- Grasp the top edge of the Cable Air Baffle and lift it straight up and out of the server.
- Grasp the top edge and lift the memory baffle out and place it aside.
Note: For proper cooling and air flow, replace the air baffle before turning on the server.
For specific instructions for the removal and installation of hardware.
