IBM System x3550 (Type 1013, 1913, 7978) - 2.5 Inch Drive Back Plane installation movie
Content
To install the 2.5 inch Drive Back Plane:
- Slide the backplane into the channels in the cage assembly and press down until secured by the spring latches on each side and the tab in the center.
- Connect SAS power cable and signal cable to the back plane.
- Gently push the drive tray into the bay until the drive connects to the backplane.
- Rotate the drive tray handle to the closed position.
- Use the same procedure to install all of the drives.
- Slide the cage assembly into the bay area using care not to damage any cables and secure with the three screws.
- Connect the SAS power cable to the Power Back Plane and the SAS signal cable to the System Board.
Install the Top Cover:
- Position the cover over the chassis aligning the tabs in the cover with the slots in the chassis.
- Slide the cover forward and secure with the single captive screw.
- Rotate the Fan Door to the closed and latched position.
