IBM System x3550 (Type 1013, 1913, 7978) - CD/DVD Interposer Card removal movie
Content
To remove the CD/DVD Interposer Card:
- Turn off the server and all peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
- Open the Fan Door.
- Slide the cover release latches and rotate the cover open.
- Remove the CD/DVD Interposer Card:
- Press the release tab down to release the drive; then, while pressing the tab push the drive toward the front of the server.
- From the front of the server, pull the drive partially out of the bay to gain access to the card.
- Remove the single screw.
- Lift the interposer card off the alignment post.
- Disconnect the cable and place the card on an ESD protected surface.
