IBM System x3850 M2 (7141, 7144), x3950 M2 (7141) - DVD Housing removal movie
Content
To remove the DVD Housing:
Remove the Top Cover:
- Turn off the server and all peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
- Lift the cover-release latch.
- Slide the cover towards the rear of the server approximately one half inch and then lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
Remove the Bezel:
- Press in on the bezel retention tabs at the sides of the bezel, and pull the bezel from the server.
Remove the DVD Housing with Interposer Card Assembly:
- Push the blue retention latch forward and pull the DVD drive out of the server and place it aside.
- Remove the DVD drive backplane cable from the connector on the interposer card.
- Press the blue release button above the assembly and push the assembly out of the server.
For specific instructions for the removal and installation of hardware.
