Abstract
IBM System x3850 M2 (7141, 7144), x3950 M2 (7141) - Memory Card Guide removal movie

Remove the Top Cover:
- Turn off the server and all peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
- Lift the cover-release latch.
- Slide the cover towards the rear of the server approximately one half inch and then lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
Remove the Bezel:
- Press in on the bezel retention tabs at the sides of the bezel, and pull the bezel from the server.
Open the Media Hood:
- Loosen the two captive screws and open the media hood.
- Remove the Memory Cards:
- Slide the orange release latch to the unlocked position; then, simultaneously rotate the levers open; then, lift card from the server and place.
Remove the Memory Card Guide:
- Slide the release latches toward the front of the server to disengage the latches.
- Pull the guide up and remove the guide from the server.
For specific instructions for the removal and
installation of hardware.
