To remove the front hard disk drive

1. Turn off the server and all peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
2. Loosen the captive screw on the rear of the chassis.
3. Slide the cover towards the rear of the server approximately one half inch and then lift the cover off the server and set it aside.

Remove the optical drive:

1. Press and hold the release button as you push the drive from the rear toward the front of the server, and then pull it from the bay.

Remove the front hard disk drive:

1. Disconnect the power ….and signal cables from the optical drive backplane.
2. Disconnect the hard disk drive cable connector.
3. Rotate the retention latch to the open position and slide the front hard disk drive cage assembly toward the rear of the server to free it from the locking tabs in the chassis and lift the drive cage assembly from the server.
4. Remove the four screws that attach the drive to the cage and lift the cage from the drive.
5. Use the same procedure to remove the rear hard disk drive.
