Text from the audio portion of the DIMM removal movie
To remove a DIMM:
Turn off the server and all peripheral devices, and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
Remove the top cover:
-
Rotate the top cover release latch up and slide the cover approximately one-half inch to the rear.

Lift the cover off and place it aside.
Remove the microprocessor/memory card:
-
Slide the retention tabs to the open position and lift the retention levers on the top of the microprocessor/memory card.

While holding the retention levers open, lift the microprocessor/memory card out of the server.
Remove the DIMM:
-
Peel the microprocessor/memory card air baffle from the card.

Push out on the two latches and lift the DIMM out of the socket.

Place it on the ESD protected surface.
For specific instructions for the removal and installation of hardware.
