To remove a hot-swap fan:
Remove the top cover:
-
Rotate the top cover release latch up and slide the cover approximately one-half inch to the rear.

Lift the cover off and place it aside.
Remove a hot-swap fan:
-
Open the fan-locking handle by sliding the release latch in the direction of the arrow.

Rotate the handle far enough to pivot the fan up disengaging the connector, then pull the handle to lift the fan out of the server.
Use the same procedure to remove any other fans if required.
For specific instructions for the removal and installation of hardware.
