To remove a SAS/SATA controller
Remove the side cover:
- Unlock the side cover if required.
- Press down on the cover release latch and rotate the top of the cover away from the chassis.
- Lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
Place the server on its side, this is the recommended service position.
Remove the SAS/SATA controller:
- Disconnect the signal cable from the controller.
- Carefully squeeze the tabs on the two plastic standoffs to free the controller.
- Grasp the edges of the controller and pull it out of the connector.
For specific instructions for the removal and installation of hardware.
