To remove a serial 2 cable
Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
Remove the side cover:
- Unlock the side cover if required.
- Press down on the cover release latch and rotate the top of the cover away from the chassis.
- Lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
Place the server on its side, this is the recommended service position.
Remove the serial 2 cable:
- Disconnect the cable from the system board.
- Remove the two hex studs from the connector and remove the cable from the server.
For specific instructions for the removal and installation of hardware.
