Text from the audio portion of the DIMM removal movie
To remove a DIMM
Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
Remove the side cover:
- Unlock the side cover if required.
- Press down on the cover release latch and rotate the top of the cover away from the chassis.
- Lift the cover off the server and set it aside.
Place the server on its side, this is the recommended service position.
Remove the DIMM:
- Push out on the two latches and lift the DIMM out of the socket.
- Place it on the ESD protected surface.
Use the same procedure to remove any additional DIMMs
Note: The drive cage has been placed in the service position and the rear adapter retainer has been opened to provide a better view.
