To install a power-supply cage

  1. Place the power-supply cage into the chassis and slide it toward the rear until engaged by the retaining tabs.
  2. Secure with the four screws.
  3. Connect the following cables:
    • Optical Drive Power
    • Two System Board Power
    • Disk Backplane

Install the front system fan assembly:

  1. Insert the assembly retaining tab over the front edge of the hard disk drive backplane and then rotate the assembly down far enough to route the cables through the openings in the assembly.
  2. Ensure that the cables will not be pinched then rotate the assembly down until latched in place.

Return the drive cage to its operational position:

  1. Rotate the cage up, press the cage release tab and rotate the cage down far enough to connect the fan cable to the system board.
  2. Rotate the drive cage down until latched in place.

Return the server to its operational position.

Install the hot-swap hard drivess and filler plates:

  1. Ensure that the drive tray handle is in the open position.
  2. Align the drive tray assembly so that it engages the guide rails in the bay.
  3. Gently push the assembly into the bay until the drive connects to the backplane.
  4. Rotate the drive tray handle to the closed position.

    To install a filler plate, position the plate into the bay and press in until seated.

    Use the same procedure to install any additional drives or filler plates.

Install the lower bezel:

  1. Insert the two tabs at the bottom of the lower bezel into the slots in the chassis and then rotate the top of the lower bezel toward the server until it latches in place.

Return the server to its operational position.

Install the side cover:

  1. Make sure that the cover lock is in the unlocked position then place the lip on the bottom of the cover on the ledge at the bottom of the chassis.
  2. Rotate the top of the cover toward the chassis until it latches in place.
  3. Lock the side cover if required.

Install the hot-swap power supplies:

  1. Position the power supply in the bay using the guides for alignment and using the handle push the power supply into the bay until it latches in place.
  2. Connect the power cord to the power supply.
