To remove a DIMM

Remove the Side Cover:

1. Turn off the server and all peripheral devices, and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
2. Place the system on its right side. This is the recommended Service Position.
3. Remove the two thumbscrews on the rear of the server. Slide the cover to the rear approximately one half inch and lift it off the server.
4. Disconnect the SATA drive power cable from the drive.
5. Remove the thumbscrew securing the drive cage. Rotate the drive cage to latch it in the open position.

1. Push out on the two latches and lift the DIMM out of the socket
2. Place it on an ESD protected surface.
