To remove a Drive from Bay 1 or 2
Remove the Side Cover:
-
Turn off the server and all peripheral devices, and disconnect all power cords and external cables.

Place the system on its right side. This is the recommended Service Position.

Remove the two thumbscrews on the rear of the server. Slide the cover to the rear approximately one half inch and lift it off the server.
Remove the Optical Drive:
-
Disconnect the signal and power cables from the drive.

Press the blue latch to release the drive, then push the drive from the rear, then grasp it and pull it from the bay.

Lift the drive retainer clip from the drive and set it aside.
For specific instructions for the removal and installation of hardware.
