Text from the audio portion of the hot-swap fan removal movie
To remove a hot-swap fan:
- Remove the top cover
- Lift the cover-release latch handle.
- The cover slides to the rear, approximately one-half inch.
- Lift the cover off the server.
- Release the latch and lift up the free end of the fan-locking handle.
- Pull upward on the handle to lift the fan out of the server.
Note: To maintain cooling, replacement fans and the cover must be installed within 2 minutes.
