To install the Hard Disk Drive Cage:

  1. Position the DVD release latch on the side of the DVD using the holes on the side for alignment.
  2. Insert the DVD drive into the bay until it is secured by the latch.
  3. Turn the assembly over and open the release latches.
  4. Position the assembly into the base of the chassis leaving room to connect the cables.
  5. Route the IDE cable and connect it to the system board.
  6. Connect the SCSI signal and the SCSI power cables to the back plane.
  7. Rotate the release latches to the closed position, which slides the assembly towards the rear of the machine engaging the tabs in the chassis with the slots on the assembly.

Close the main cover:

  1. Position the cover over the chassis aligning the tabs in the cover with the slots in the chassis.
  2. Slide the cover forward while rotating the cover release latch to the closed position.
  3. Close the processor fan door and ensure that the latch is locked.
  4. Close the I/O fan door and ensure that the latch is locked.
  5. Here’s a closer look at the cover tab and the slot in the chassis.

Replace a hot-swap hard disk drive:

  1. Ensure that the drive tray handle is in the open position.
  2. Align the drive tray assembly so that it engages the guide rails in the bay.
  3. Gently push the assembly into the bay until the drive connects to the backplane.
  4. Rotate the drive tray handle to the closed position.
