Instructions for removing the Voltage Regulator Module (VRM), 1U/75A from an xSeries 336 server.

To remove a VRM:

  1. Open the main cover:
    1. Release the latch for the I/O fan cover and open the cover.
    2. Release the latch for the processor fan cover and open the cover.
    3. Press in the cover release latch and rotate it up while sliding the cover to the rear one-half inch.
    4. Lift the cover off and place it to the side.

  2. Push out on the two latches and lift the VRM out of the socket.

  3. Place it on the ESD protected surface.
