Abstract

Instructions for removing the battery from an xSeries 336 server.

To remove the Battery:

  1. Open the main cover:
    1. Release the latch for the I/O fan cover and open the cover.
    2. Release the latch for the processor fan cover and open the cover.
    3. Press in the cover release latch and rotate it up while sliding the cover to the rear approximately one-half inch.
    4. Lift the cover off and place it to the side.
  2. Using a flat-bladed probe, flex the battery retaining spring clip to free the battery, and lift the battery out of the retainer.
