Abstract
Procedures for installing the CD-ROM drive from the eServer 325.

To install the CD-ROM power cable, connect it to the system board and route it through the air baffle.
To install the CD-ROM drive:
- Insert the interposer card into the media tray and secure it with the single screw.
- Slide the CD-ROM drive into the media tray
- Install the retaining wires on the drive assembly.
- Carefully insert the drive assembly into the chassis.
- Connect the signal and power cables to the CD-ROM drive.
To install fan 1:
- Position the fan so the airflow arrow on the side of the fan is pointing toward the rear of the server.
Note: Correct airflow is from the front to the rear of the server. - Thread the fan cable through the guide hole in the bracket and seat the fan in the bracket
- Connect the fan cable to the system board.
To install fans 2, 3, 4, and 5:
- Position the fan so the airflow arrow on the side of the fan is pointing toward the rear of the server.
Note: Correct airflow is from the front to the rear of the server. - Position each fan into the bracket and attach the cable to the system board. Here’s a closer look at the cable routing for fan 2.
Note that fan 3 is installed with the cable exiting from the fan near the bottom of the server,
Note that fans 2, 4, and 5 are positioned such that the fan cable exits the fan near the top of the server.
Improper routing of the fan cables could result in crimp or cut damage to the cables.
To install the cover:
Position the cover on the chassis, and close the latch.
