Abstract

Procedures for removing the CD-ROM drive from the eServer 325.

To remove the cover:

  1. Turn off the server and all attached peripheral devices. Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external signal cables from the server.
  2. Remove the server from the rack. Then, lift the cover release latch; slide the cover to the rear, lift up the front of the cover, and then lift off the cover.

To remove fans 2, 3, 4, and 5

Disconnect the fan cables from the system board and carefully lift the fans and cables out of the server.

To remove the CD-ROM drive:

  1. Disconnect the CD-ROM drive power and signal cables.
  2. Press the release cam until the media tray protrudes slightly from the front of the server.
  3. Carefully pull the drive assembly out of the chassis.
  4. Remove the retaining wires on the drive assembly.
  5. To remove the CD-ROM drive from the media tray, pull gently on the drive and slide it out of the tray.
  6. To remove the interposer card, remove the screw that secures it to the media tray and pull the card away from the media tray.
  7. To remove the CD-ROM power cable, disconnect it from the system board
