Renewing the MaaS360 Entra ID Secret Key

Summary

The secret key used for the MaaS360 and Microsoft Entra ID integration must be renewed once per year to maintain secure directory synchronization. MaaS360 posts a notification in the Notifications Center indicating that the secret key needs to be renewed.

Renewing the key ensures uninterrupted user provisioning and continued synchronization between MaaS360 and Microsoft Entra. The process involves generating a new code in MaaS360 and updating it within the corresponding Microsoft Entra Enterprise Application.

Steps


Step 1: Generate a New Code in MaaS360

  1. Log in to your MaaS360 Admin Portal.
  2. Navigate to: 
    Setup > Microsoft Entra ID Integration > Directory Sync > User Provisioning Configuration
  3. Click Renew to generate a new secret key (code).
  4. Copy the newly generated code. You will need it for the next steps.
     

Step 2: Update the Code in Microsoft Entra

  1. Log in to the Microsoft Entra Admin Center.
  2. Navigate to: Enterprise Applications
  3. Select your registered MaaS360 Entra application.
  4. Go to Connectivity.
  5. Paste the code you copied from MaaS360.
  6. Click Test Connection.
  7. Confirm the connection status shows Healthy.
     

Once the connection status is confirmed as Healthy, the secret key renewal is complete.
