Abstract

This document describes how to download IBM Verify Directory, Version 11.0.0.0 from Passport Advantage Online and some of the pre-requisite products from Fix Central.

Overview

IBM Verify Directory provides a trusted identity data infrastructure for authentication. It includes Directory Server, which is the IBM implementation of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) for the supported operating systems.

To access a wide variety of technical resources for this product, see the IBM Verify Directory Documentation.

IBM Verify Directory Editions:

  • Limited Edition: This edition contains Directory Server with the following features:
    • Directory Server with RDBM instance capability
    • Proxy server
    • Ability to record last successful authentication time stamp in user entries
    • Advanced password policy rules
  • Standard Edition: This edition includes everything provided in the Limited Edition as well as the following premium feature:
    • Pass-through authentication
  • Enterprise Edition: This edition includes everything provided in the Limited and Standard Editions as well as the following premium features:
    • Virtual Directory Server
    • With this edition, you are entitled to download IBM Verify Directory Integrator (VDI) V11.0.0 and use the following features of VDI for IBM Verify Directory based solutions:
      • Federated Directory Server
      • SCIM service
      • Directory Synchronization

Downloading and assembling the product

  1. Use the tables in this document to find the downloadable images that you need.
  2. On the Passport Advantage website, use the search to find the IBM Verify Directory downloadable images. You can search for either the eAssembly number or individual part number.
  3. IBM Verify Directory software images are also available on Fix Central.
  4. Some of the installable images such as DB2 are provided on IBM Fix Central.
  5. Download all of the parts that you need, both required and optional. The parts and their descriptions are available in the table in this document. For more information about the various components, see Installation package information.
  6. Unpack each of the parts into a temporary directory on your computer.
  7. Follow the instructions in the installation section of the IBM Documentation to install the product.
