If AOS is not available, IBM Remote Support will not be able to access the DS8k system. An SSR will be required onsite to provide laptop access.

Recommended Action
REQUIRED: All DS8A00 and DS8900F systems must have DNS Enabled, or firewall/proxy configuration that provides access to AOS host servers, no later than 30 June, 2026. After this date, AOS may no longer work
IBM strongly recommends firewall settings using FQDN filtering instead of IP addresses.

Fix:
– DS8A00 and DS8900F MUST enable DNS on both HMCs, or if using a proxy, ensure both HMCs are able to access the AOS Host Servers.

– DS8900F Customer Code Load users may activate ICS PFE_FixAOS_Consolidated_v2.4, by reinstalling their existing bundle.
